Jackie Wins Professional Spirit Award at Hong Kong Film Festival

Sadly, New Police Story didn't take home any awards at this year's Hong Kong Film Awards. Jackie was presented with a special Spirit Award, however. There are many photos of the event being posted on Chinese websites. Below you will find some of Jackie (all from Sina). If you would like to see some other stars (including Zhang Ziyi who starred with Jackie in Rush Hour 2 and who won an award this year), click on this link. And by the way, if they had been giving out an award for "Best Dressed Male" for the evening, Jackie most certainly would have won. He looked really wonderful - elegant and handsome. Jackie's always a winner in our book!

Neat Video of Jackie

Here's a video of Jackie talking about the United Buddy Bears. It's in Cantonese, but it's still fun to watch (even if you don't speak Cantonese) because it shows Jackie visiting the Buddy Bear factory!

ALSO...several more photos of Jackie with Buddy Bear Book one have been added to this page.

Speaking of Buddy Bears...

As you may know, two Buddy Bear books have been sent to Jackie from the Kids Corner. Since he liked both of them, a third book is in the making. In the second book, stamps from all over the world (from Kids Corner mail) were used to decorate the blank spots. This time, Mini Buddy Bears will be used. Click below to print out a page to color. These little bears will be used only in the book. They will not be included in the Buddy Bear pages on the Kids Corner. If you make a page of mini Buddies, you must send them by post so they can be cut out and used in the book. Here's the form:

Jackie To Appear at Malaysian Charity Concert

This Friday is the concert that was reported on here at the Kids Corner on March 10:

From TheStar.com

KUALA LUMPUR: Grammy winners Lauryn Hill, Black Eyed Peas, Boyz II Men and Wyclef Jean, and international superstar Jackie Chan top a stellar list of artistes who will appear at the Force of Nature Concert for Tsunami Aid at Putra Stadium here on March 18.

The Backstreet Boys will also be coming for this charity show, joining Hong Kong rocker Nicholas Tse and singer/actress Yumiko Cheng, and Malaysian artistes Sheila Majid, Anuar Zain, Dayang Nurfaizah and vocal group Innuendo on stage to raise funds for people affected by the Dec 26 tsunami that hit coastlines in southern Asia.

The concert, which starts at 7pm, is the first initiative by the KL-based Force of Nature Aid Foundation, which is made up of private organisations and individuals from Malaysia and overseas.

At a press conference yesterday, Scott Kramer, creator and executive producer for the Force of Nature campaign, announced the list of artistes that Malaysians would see at the event.

“The tickets are selling fast,” said Force of Nature campaign committee member Tony Fernandes.

Fernandes, the former CEO of Warner Music Malaysia, said 10,000 tickets to the concert had been sold.

Rush Hour 3 Rumor

According to the Box Office Prophets site, Rush Hour 3 is due out in August of THIS YEAR. Since there has been no filming as of yet, this is highly unlikely and is perhaps just a rumor. The site lists Brett Ratner as director and Jason Richman, Jeff Eastin, and Ross LaManna as writers and says that Jackie and Chris will "find themselves in New York City." Here's the source so you can see it with your own eyes. Before announcing this to all your friends, you should probably wait and see if any more information surfaces.

Birthday Cards for Jackie: Please Read This

Just a reminder that if you live overseas, you should be mailing your birthday card for Jackie really soon. The cut-off date for arrival at the Kids Corner mailbox is March 21st. Please DO NOT send gifts for Jackie to the Kids Corner mailing address. You must send them directly to Hong Kong. The Kids Corner is sending Jackie CARDS ONLY. If everyone sent a gift, the package would be way too heavy and the cost of mailing it would be great. If you read the guidelines for sending cards to Jackie, this is mentioned. If you send a gift for Jackie, it won't be forwarded with the cards and unfortunately, it won't be returned to you unless you email the webmaster and something is arranged. Sorry about this, but it can't be helped. So get to work, everyone! Make a beautiful card for Jackie!

Jackie Chan Fan Club Party: Japan

The following has been translated from Japanese and may contain some mistakes:

Jackie hosted a Fan Club party for his adoring Japanese fans on February 26th at the Tokyo Toranomon Hotel. According to the source, fans waited for hours outside in the cold to see their hero. Some even brought sleeping bags! Jackie was the perfect host and brought along gifts of candy, t-shirts, DVDs, and movie press kits. He spoke to his fans about his next role and how he plans to play a not-so-nice guy. The kind of guy who pulls women's hair and gives cigarettes to children. He talked about filming The Myth and New Police Story and even mentioned some of the problems he anticipates for the filming of his "bad guy" movie. There were two photo opportunities for the fans and it seems (from the article) that everyone had a really good time, although it is never ENOUGH time! Here are some photos from "Jackie Chan Union" website:

_____

___________

March 3, 2005

At a Japanese news conference the other day, Jackie talked more about his upcoming movie role as a "bad guy." This is a real departure for Jackie and will give him a chance to stretch his acting wings a little bit!

Also mentioned was the fact that Jackie was to have been rewarded the "Roadshow" award years ago, but since one of the requirements of receiving the award is that he had to attend the ceremony, he has had to wait until this year. Jackie is the first non-Japanese to receive this award.

Jackie "DASH"

It looks like Jackie will take part in another amusing Japanese game show called Dash:

The Tetsuwan Dash Special (March 27, 6:55-8:54 p.m., the NTV network). Ever fantasize about chasing TOKIO and Jackie Chan around Tokyo? You can vicariously join in the fun as 100 amateur sleuths try to do just that. The 100 detective chases have become a regular feature. Details on how to join in real-time chases appear periodically on the show's Web site (http://www.ntv.co.jp/dash). Source: Yahoo

Jackie To Play "Bad Guy" in Next Film!!

BEIJING, Mar. 1 -- Action star Jackie Chan will play a bad guy in his next film, which is to be a Korean co-production.

At a press conference in Tokyo, for promoting his New Police Story, Chan described himself as the "worlds No.1 Baddie" in the film.

He says he will recreate Tokyo's Shinjuku district for the film because it will be very hard to shoot in the real Shinjuku district during the night time.

The name of the film has not been unveiled and it is expected to be finished before the end of this year.
